 Computer Geeks?
« Thread Started on Dec 14, 2003, 1:46pm »

Okay....who is a computer geek....who's partner is one?

I'm not a computer geek (though I probably look like one to my "un-computer literate" co-workers!)....but my DH is. He loves games on it and installs things and gets viruses out.

Who else? :)

I'm not a hardcore geek, but I do spend a good amount of time on the computer everyday. I know a little HTML and the other teachers on my team will often go to me if they have a question about their computers. I don't game, but we all know I'm addicted to message boards. ;D

My husband is not a computer guy at all, although he's been downloading music videos a lot these days. He'll play solitaire and those types of games, too. He has a laptop that doesn't even have a internet connection. Me, I can't live without an internet connection! (Although it is handy to play the Sims in front of the TV!)

I’m not a total computer geek either. I know some HTML and some other coding. I’m really getting into creating graphics in PhotoShop and PaintShop Pro now though. I like to surf all kinds of sites and learn things. I play some games on the computer, not many though. Not really into that. I’d rather be teaching myself something.

Hubby is slowly learning. Unfortunately, what he’s learning is eBay. ::) Gotta love him. Other than that, he plays solitaire. Most of the computer time is my time.

DH and I are both Geeks!!!!

DH has been in the field for 10 + years and I have been in it for 6+ years. Between the two of us we have 4 laptops, 1 server, 2 PCs with hot swappable drives for each Operating System, and 3 PDAs. We have our wireless network set up which is great for surfing in front of the TV or even when making dinner, not having to print out emails, just take the laptop to the kitchen!! :D

I ran the computer helpdesk for a major Restaurant Chain in Texas as well as running the helpdesk for a national Floral,Frame, Craft Company.

We are completely Geeky and we don't mind. Needless to say we are very popular with our Non-Tech Savvy friends and relatives.

Welcome, txssenorita!!! :)

When I delivered cookies to my neighbors (something Mom and I always did and when she passed away 9 years ago, I continued the tradition), one of them asked if my DH was any good with computers.

Well, I lined him up for a job of trying to get a virus off of his computer. He's done it before with the "Worm" virus.....without McAffee, too! So...he's going to try! [image]

I design sites and work as a designer at an advertising firm. I use my PC 13 or more hours a day. I am quite good with it, so yes, I am a geek :D
