Proboards Upgrade « Thread Started on May 27, 2005, 8:15pm »
hey everyone,
proboards was recently upgraded to a new system. i hadn't been around for a couple days so i was surprised to come by and actually find myself locked out of the system until i entered an activation code that had been sent to me...anyway i know we don't get much traffic around here, but enjoy the changes anyway if you get the chance.

ok, let me know of any other malfunctions due to changes. grr...why the heck don't the smilies work anymore? that's a lot of work, to get them all squared away. i guess i will have to redo them!
ok, smilies WILL work if you type in their aliases. like if you type their code alias between colons, like the word 'naughty' - you should get the naughty smilie: .
i will try to see if i can get the smilies to work by just clicking on them in the menu, again. i will have to replace the entire code apparently, according to what i'm being told by support at proboards admin support.
as for the avatars mentioned in the random thought thread, i will ask about them. not sure why they are not working consistently.

smilies are back up and working. i found a code i could insert into our footers that would redo them, finally. it was easy once i finally figured it out. they may appear a bit disorganized in the menu above, but at least they're there and they work.
the codes might be slightly different...the cat code, for instance, needs a 2 next to it now (so your sig, Suey, needs a 2 for the kitty to reappear.) but they are mostly the same. one or two smilies i completely deleted though. you might find an empty leftover code in old posts here or there.
as for the avatars being gone, if you find your old avatar anywhere online, i can arrange to have it put back into our code so that it will reappear for you. but i don't remember what that pic looked like, or i'd try to find it myself for you.
if the NEW avatars don't always work, then i don't know why. grr.
hope the smilies being fixed helps a bit. i know people aren't around very much, but i wanted to redo them as a challenge anyway.
